Adeetya's Kitchen salutes Indian women!

Adeetya’s Kitchens appreciates the efforts of Indian women and tradition they have maintained. We salute to our mothers, Grandmothers, Housewives, daughters, sisters in India for all that you are doing since centuries. Thanks for feeding us!!

Kitchen in India is called 'Rasoi' or Swayampak ghar'. Indian cooking activity consists many traditions, a lot of preparation, use of spices and different cooking processes. Earlier till 1980 the cooking was carried out on ‘Chulha’ made out of stones and clay. The main source of fire was wood or coal and firing was very time consuming, skillful, patient activity and Indian lady has to carry out cooking activity in smoky atmosphere. Now every house is getting Liquid petroleum gas in cylinders or through pipe gas and at a halt Indians likes’ food cooked on ‘Chulha’ as it taste different. In 2016 still Chulhas exist in Interior rural India.
Cooking ingredients and process differ family to family and region to region in India. Recipe are made using fresh herbs and spices grounded together called as Masala. Vegetables and curries are prepared with such Masala using some oil, onion, turmeric and paste of garlic, ginger, herbs etc. Breads are homemade 'Roties' served hot and made fresh for every meal. Rice with pills is part of daily meals and cooked with different preparations. Spicy Biryani Rice with spices, Pulao Rice with less spices and more vegetables, sweet Rice with coconut milk are cooked on special occasions. Indian lady gets knowledge as a family tradition and cooks food as per the seasons and many a times adds medicinal herbs in food  to maintain health of family members.
